SCGPR 2.0

Celebrating Nigeria’s state-level climate leadership through the unveiling of the Subnational Climate Governance Performance Rating & Ranking 2025.

Venue:

Abuja, Nigeria

About the Event

The Subnational Climate Governance Performance Rating and Ranking is Nigeria’s foremost nationwide assessment of climate governance across all 36 states. It recognizes states demonstrating strong institutional leadership, policy innovation, and measurable progress in addressing the climate crisis.

Building on the success of the inaugural 2024 edition (SCGPR 1.0) — which inspired the creation of new climate directorates, increased state-level climate budgets, and improved coordination — this second edition introduces refined methodologies and deeper insights.

SCGPR 2.0 provides the data, visibility, and recognition needed to accelerate Nigeria’s climate ambition, promote federal–state collaboration, and ensure inclusive, evidence-based governance at the subnational level.

Join policymakers, development partners, private sector leaders, and civil society organizations for the official public launch of Nigeria’s 2025 Subnational Climate Governance Rating and Ranking Report.

The event will unveil the States’ Climate Scorecard 2.0, highlight Nigeria’s top-performing states, and provide an interactive platform for dialogue on subnational climate leadership.
